Leading Data Centre Co-location provider are looking for a Senior M&E Project Engineer from a hard services background (Electrical or Mechanical) to provide technical engineering expertise for the Construction, Fit-Out and Refurb of their datacentre facilities in Amsterdam. Joining as they enter period of international expansion, currently they are building in Germany & Holland with significant plans across Asia, you will have opportunity to develop your technical, commercial & business management skill set.

Based out of their office in Amsterdam, you will be responsible for over viewing and coordinating the engineering design, provide technical direction, analysis and resolution of engineering problems for their facility in Amsterdam as well as a new development. You will interact fully with the internal team, clients, client’s representatives, consultants and contractors to ensure successful delivery of said new development and all associated engineering projects within the Campus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. Project planning, feasibility and evaluation, scheduling and coordination of projects, monitors work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices.
  • Analyse design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Identify suitable consultants and contractors; assign, direct, and evaluate their work.
  • Play a leading role in the delivery of the M&E design and assist with M&E Consultants in achieving cost effective and resilient infrastructures on each site they work on.
  • Works closely with the senior Group Projects management team, Construction Manager, Site Operations Managers, Facility Managers / Supervisors and rollout team regarding the design, construction and progress of the works.
  • The role will have a strong focus on contractor management and performance, establishing and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements include:

The positions suits an individual with some experience working for in either a consultancy or end client within a technically focused engineering role, and will fulfil the following criteria;

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or acceptable Engineering Diploma
  • At minimum of 3 years Data Centre design/operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of all critical electrical systems equipment.
