Regional Engineering Design Manager

Employed as a Regional Design Manager you will join a highly successful business who develop and operate hyper-scale facilities (60 MW plus), in partnership with some of the world’s leading technology firms. The position offers the opportunity to join an extremely well-funded business with a unique proposition, that differs from traditional co-lo offering, at a stage where they are set to significantly expand their global portfolio having already established operations in Europe & Asia.

The role

Focused on the very front end of hyper-scale datacentre development you will bring a M&E Engineering expertise to the land acquisition program, acting as client-side technical stakeholder in the development and delivery of their land acquisition program. This will require you playing a key role in the strategic expansion of site selection through: technical strategy implementation, technical process development & implementation of their standard datacentre design. This will include undertaking responsibilities to include;

• Leading front-end design and technical due diligence during site acquisition process,
• Provide leadership to external design, utility, due diligence and environmental teams,
• Contribute to technical innovation developing new business strategies,
• Lead the early test fit design development, planning, utilities and site design,

What’s required?

• With a strong commercial acumen you will understand the impact of technically led decisions, and possess experience in costing and financing of datacentre development,
• You will possess experience working for a datacentre provider or datacentre owner with clear experience in the delivery of datacentre projects from an engineering design perspective,
• Proven ability in leading technical workshops and meetings with supply chain and customers,
• Able to demonstrate understanding of technical constraints of land due diligence and risk impacts,
