London or Amsterdam

£80,000 to £95,000 + car allowance + full package

With the vision of providing best in class datacentre facilities our client, a uniquely placed real estate firm, are seeking to appoint a Lead Mechanical Engineer for their technical division based from either London or Amsterdam. The team is tasked with leading the technical development / design, delivery & on-going technical support during the full life cycle of hyper-scale datacentre facilities.

Their business model stands out from the crowd, squarely position at the hyper-scale datacentre market they partner with some of the leading firms, providing fully outsourced facilities from site planning & acquisition through datacentre design & construction and on-going ownership and operation of the asset. With a fully integrated supply chain they on track to develop 8-10 facilities across Europe within the next 6-8 years, with their technical team playing a leading role in the development of their facilities.

The successful Lead Mechanical Engineer / Manager will operate at Associate Director level reporting into the overall Technical Director, joining a team of subject matter expertise that incorporates Electrical, Civil, Structural, Architecture & BIM leads. You will lead on the mechanical elements to the continued development & improvement of their offering, seeking to lead the industry in the technical advancement of critical facilities keeping the company at the forefront of the industry. Your responsibilities will include;

* Technical Governance on all aspects of Mechanical Engineering Systems across the datacentre life cycle,
* Defining Mechanical Engineering requirements and communicating this to the supply chain including Design Consultants, Main Contractor and specialist suppliers,
* Working with end customers understanding their requirements & ensuring these are implemented,
* Developing a technical blueprint for the Mechanical Engineering elements to new datacentre facilities and seeking to continually improve in-line with technological advances,
* Visit sites during construction stages to review technical compliance of installations,
* Act as a point of escalation for all technical issues relating to Mechanical Engineering Services throughout the life cycle of the facilities,

You will be a technical expert in Mechanical Engineering who has gained experience within the design & build of critical facilities. You will also hold the following;

* Degree educated in a related Mechanical or Building Services Engineering subject,
* Hold Chartered Engineer status or be close to securing,
* Gained experience at different stages of the building life cycle be it design, build or on-going operation,
