Global Building Services Engineering consultancy specialising in the Design of Critical Facilities is searching for a Technical Director to join their UK team to be responsible for the delivery of Hyperscale projects worldwide. As Technical Director you will have a responsibility to the company to ensure excellence in the delivery of engineering across all projects and in many cases being the sole point of contact for major blue-chip clients within their impressive portfolio. Other duties include:

• Establish design concepts to ensure that designs are appropriate, deliverable and consistent with the client’s brief
• Monitor and manage (human) resourcing requirements for projects
• Take responsibility for the technical control of projects, to ensure that all designs are technically sound and meet the client’s brief
• Review and verify designs produced by direct reports and/or other team members, providing feedback as required and signing off designs before they leave the Practice
• Taking responsibility for one or more major accounts, being sole point of contact between the practice and the client

Ideally, the successful candidate will be a Chartered Engineer, educated to degree level in Mechanical (preferred) or Electrical Engineering (MEng or BEng), who has gained significant experience in an Engineering Management role, preferably in a data centre/critical systems environment. An established expert in the critical systems field, you will have a background in design engineering and be comfortable establishing and managing client relationships and have experience in a similar client facing role. Industry relevant qualifications and memberships will be looked at favourably (Uptime institute, CIBSE etc.)
