CSA Project Manager

Global Engineering and Construction Main Contractor are seeking to appoint a CSA (Civil, Structural and Architectural) Project Manager to join and provide management on ongoing projects within their Refurb, Maintenance, Upgrade and Security team. These projects will be doing all the maintenance on an existing Data Centre and will work on projects anywhere from £1M and over. The CSAM will be responsible for construction aspects of the project from Tender through to Absolute Completion and will work with the MEP Project Managers and Health and Safety team and the commercial management teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to the clients standards, safely and within budget.

Individuals seeking to be considered will need to possess relevant technical experience and be degree qualified in a relevant field, as well as ideally holding RICS or MCIOB memberships. Key deliverables on this role will be:

  • Advise on product selection, specifications and assist with value engineering exercises.
  • To produce precise and succinct project reports.
  • To provide strategic details and feedback to the programme.
  • Attend and possibly chair meetings with the contractors.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all delivery systems.
  • Promote and influence Zero defects Initiative.
  • To be responsible and accountable for providing direction to ensure the safe, successful, cost efficient and timely delivery of Construction packages, enabling and providing as necessary, effective problem resolution or seeking guidance where necessary
  • To deliver structural and/or construction packages (inc groundworks) to best practise and industry leading standards.
  • To ensure the CSA delivery is co-ordinated into the overall project scope.
  • To ensure daily liaison and open communication between the client and its Trade Contractors as well as peers and client teams is maintained.
  • Keeping accurate records including daily diary.
  • Approve & Raise Permits and Work Notifications when required.
  • Reviewing Method Statements and planning team works sequences and activities for safe working practices with Project leads and mentor.
  • Drafting Risk Assessments from site surveys informing safe working methods and procedures out on site.
  • Morning Safe-start briefings with Delivery team (DABs)
  • On site co-ordination with other disciplines/packages with regards to managing space/working areas.
  • Liaise with logistics team to ensure materials are at the work face.
  • Managing on and off-site material and equipment storage and housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Where applicable managing quality checks and ITP’s for relevant packages.
  • To provide information and to advise, as appropriate, project reporting, project meetings and other inputs.
  • To proactively set health & safety standards and culture for all assigned projects and to take appropriate action where necessary to reduce safety risk.
  • Manage and drive on site teams to ensure successful and compliant installation.
  • Demolition management experience preferable
  • Asbestos / Hazardous Material strip out management preferable
