Associate Director – Mission Critical Engineering

Up to £95,000 + package

London

International Building Services Engineering consultancy, now part of a Global Engineering business, is currently seeking an Associate Director (Electrically biased) to join their London office as a leader in their Mission Critical Division. The Mission Critical Division is a highly successful part of their business, working with major Blue-Chip organisations on Data Centre projects up to 120MW IT Load and sit as one of the major players within this industry. This opportunity suits someone with knowledge and experience within the Data Centre industry, who can add real value to their business and help develop the Division.

Key roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with new and existing clients to develop project briefs and agree fees
  • Work with the team Director to manage project design resources
  • Work with team Director collaboratively to manage internal and external design resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget
  • Design, manage and supervise projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works and agree deliverables, i.e. report, specifications and drawings scope
  • Carry out electrical engineering role from concept design to completion on site, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are met
  • Ensure the internal (and external) design team produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, and to a consistent quality and standard
  • Be one of the ‘go to’ technical electrical engineers for the London mission critical team

Experience

  • Able to write originally scripted specifications (not NBS) and reports using HPF in-house style
  • Experienced user of industry standard design software (e.g. Amtech, Dialux, Revit, Bluebeam etc) and be able to help develop the skills of junior design team members in this area
  • Able to organise and direct the production of CAD/Revit drawings
  • Experience designing resilient generator, UPS and LV/MV switchgear systems
  • Experience in data centre design
  • Degree Qualified, professional certifications desired (CIBSE, CEng etc.)
